Reflection to Signature Assignment and class.
Biology isn't one of my strongest subjects to learn about, but I needed to take this subject to complete my final year at Salt Lake Community College. I am, however, interested in earth's past. Growing up, I loved dinosaurs and learning about how man kind came to be, so when I found out that there was a "Human Origins" course, I was interested to take it. At first I got lost, and I wasn't really getting connected with the subject, until the long lectures started. In school, what students hate the most are boring lectures, but in this class, it was fun to listen to. The professor spoke with clear words and not in a boring tone. I was able to listen carefully and I gathered enough information to write the Signature assignment that was assigned to the class. For the Signature Assignment, I had to write about the Dichotomy of human life. The biological and the cultural differences of how us humans evolved to what we are today. This was probably the most difficult assignment I had to write in my college life. I needed to create 10 pages and have it in APA format. I'm an MLA guy, and having it to write it with those rules was tough. I didn't start on the assignment until mid September of 2017. I was confused and didn't even know where to start. After looking at some resources and help from my professor, I believe I had an idea I was able to complete the assignment a month and a half later, 2 days before the due date. I was focusing more on this assignment more than the class course it self. I didn't have to time to study for the exams and I barley got the chapter assignment turned in on time, except one. The signature assignment was worth a huge percentage of my grade, I wanted to get this done before I had to deal with the other assignments. I did, however, learn a lot from what I wrote. Both educational and writing purposes. Honestly, I don't think it's my best work, but after all the time I spent writing it, I feel confident about it. This class was great to me, and I have learned a good amount from it. The signature assignment can prove it. Whether or not if I did a good job, it was a satisfying feeling to just finish it. |
